|  Local temperatures run ten degrees cooler in summer than the lower desert areas and twenty degrees warmer in the winter than surrounding mountain areas; creating comfortable, year-round living at an average altitude of 2,700-3000 feet. Most annual rainfall occurs in July, August, September, and January, with four to six inches of average total precipitation. The climate is considered pleasantly moderate and discernibly four-seasoned.
